"Tribute" to the Hunger Games

I figured since I am such a HUGE fan of the Hunger Games that I would section off my obsession to it's own page and y'all can visit it when you see fit ;)

This page will be updated every so often...especially now that we have a much more reasonable
countdown to "Catching Fire" in our hands!!!

Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when you awake, the sun will rise.
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, A moonbeam ray, Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it's morning, they'll wash away.
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

This is the song Katniss sang to Rue and to her little sister Prim.  It was the father of Katniss who taught her to sing this song when they would go hunting in the woods.
In the book, however...the song went a little something like this...
The Hanging Tree...
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man they say murdered three
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out for his love to flee
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope, side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here,
No stranger would it be,
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.

A very beautiful songstress, singing a very pretty song...

...and another independent artist playing out his love of the film...
(it really is pretty.  Give it a listen!)

Unofficial music to the movie...but some of the prettiest music around that I've come to find!
